Sotavento MBA provides high-level information to impact the curriculum of management educational programs and the management practices of Colombian and Latin-American companies. Guided by the principles of diversity and tolerance, as well as theoretical and methodological rigor, the journal accepts research results from different public and private institutions and from its associated centers, students and programs.

The Universidad Externado de Colombia is one of the most important, prestigious and renowned institutional publishers in Colombia. The Externado was founded in 1886 and it remains one of the most prestigious and academically rigorous universities in Colombia. It is the Alma Mater of many eminent lawyers, professors, magistrates, financers, high state officials and Colombian leaders. It has the accreditation of high quality from the National Educational Ministry. The institution has 4 consolidated research centers with 43 research groups.
