The journal Olivar, Revista de Literatura y Cultura Españolas, specializes in Spanish literature and culture. It is published by the Center for the Study of Theory and Literary Criticism, Institute of Research in Humanities and Social Sciences (IdIHCS, UNLP-CONICET)), Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences (FaHCE), National University of La Plata (UNLP), Argentina.

The IdIHCS, founded by FaHCE in 2009, is a double dependency institute; the UNLP and the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (UNLP-CONICET). Through Olivar, this institute disseminates national and international academic productions of different theoretical and methodological approaches about Spain, its culture, its literature and its connections with the Americas. The journal disseminates unpublished articles, notes, documents, interviews and critical reviews.  Each of its texts is reviewed according to the double-blind method, performed by two reviewers (one internal and one external). In case of dissent, the text is referred to a third reviewer.

FaHCE was formally established in 1920. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions in Argentina. It is recognized mainly for the development and support for scholars, researchers and intellectuals who have excelled at national and international levels. Results of the different lines of research are made available to the public through workshops, seminars and conferences carried out by the faculty’s Secretariat of Research. FaHCE also offers exchange programs working together with other national and international academic institutions with which it has cooperation agreements.

Since its foundation in 1905, the UNLP has been at the forefront of research and scientific, cultural and artistic developments. It is one of the largest and most renowned universities in Argentina, hosting 100,000 students and 10,900 teachers in 17 faculties. UNLP integrates 141 research and development centers where 3,500 researchers work on their projects. It also has a Museum of natural sciences and a network of 12 thematic museums, an astronomical observatory, a public library and a network of 21 libraries.

Olivar has published twice a year since 2000. All articles are available in full text in LatAm-Studies.
