Educación Física y Ciencia (Physical Education and Science) specializes on topics derived from Physical Education and other related scientific disciplines. It is published in the Department of Physical Education of the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences (FaHCE) of the National University of La Plata (UNLP), Argentina.

Educación Física y Ciencia includes peer reviewed original and unpublished research papers, interviews and bibliographical reviews in Spanish, Portuguese and English. The refereeing is conducted under a double blind system by an evaluator of the UNLP and a guest of one of the universities that collaborate with the faculty. The journal promotes the advance of knowledge through a transdisciplinary approach with the purpose of contributing to the development and fortification of the Physical Education. It is aimed to researchers, teachers, administrators, officials, professionals and students of this discipline.

The FaHCE was formally established in 1920. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions in Argentina. It is recognized mainly for the development and support for scholars, researchers and intellectuals who have excelled at national and international levels. Results of the different lines of research are made available to the public through workshops, seminars and conferences carried out by the faculty’s Secretariat of Research. FaHCE also offers exchange programs working together with other national and international academic institutions with which it has cooperation agreements.

Since its foundation in 1905, the UNLP has been at the forefront of research and scientific, cultural and artistic developments. It is one of the largest and most renowned universities in Argentina, hosting 100,000 students and 10,900 teachers in 17 faculties. UNLP integrates 141 research and development centers where 3,500 researchers work on their projects. It also has a Museum of natural sciences and a network of 12 thematic museums, an astronomical observatory, a public library and a network of 21 libraries.
