Clío & Asociados. La Historia enseñada
(Clio
& Associates.
History Taught)
is a journal that promotes
subjects and diverse views
that put into question the
relationship between taught
history and the researched
history. It is published in
the Faculty of Humanities and
Education Sciences (FaHCE)
of the National University of La Plata
(UNLP), Argentina and and the Department of History of the Universidad
Nacional del Litoral (UNL).
Clío & Asociados
includes
research papers, essays,
comparative perspective,
discussion, reflection, interviews
and reviews. The journal
publishes refereed original
papers that have been
product of specialized research. It accepts
contributions with different
theoretical and methodological approaches
from many institutions and areas
of study. Its content
is considered especially
important for the developing teaching talent and
practice, because it presents
interpretations of the past in
order to have an analytical view of the present and create
possible futures.
The FaHCE,
where the journal is produced, was formally established in 1920. It is one
of the oldest and most prestigious institutions in Argentina. It is
recognized mainly for the development of scholars, researchers and
intellectuals who have excelled at national and international levels.
Results of the different lines of research are made available to the public
through workshops, seminars and conferences carried out by the faculty’s
Secretariat of Research. FaHCE also offers exchange programs working
together with other national and international academic institutions with
which it has cooperation agreements.
Since its
foundation in 1905, the UNLP has been at the forefront of research and
scientific, cultural and artistic developments. It is one of the largest and
most renowned universities in Argentina, hosting 100,000 students and 10,900
teachers in 17 faculties. UNLP integrates 141 research and development
centers where 3,500 researchers work on their projects. It also has a Museum
of natural sciences and a network of 12 thematic museums, an astronomical
observatory, a public library and a network of 21 libraries.
Clío & Asociados
publishes annually since
1996 by the UNL and, from 2009 to date, it has been published with the
support of the FaHCE. All articles are available in
full text in
LatAm-Studies.
