Anuario del Instituto de Historia Argentina
(Yearbook of the Institute of History Argentina) is specialized in
political history, conflict, society and economics in Latin America,
particularly Argentina. It is edited in The Argentine and American History
Center, Institute for Research in the Humanities and Social Sciences (IdIHCS-UNLP-CONICET)
from the Faculty of Humanities and Science of Education at the National
University of La Plata (UNLP), Argentina.
This journal addresses issues related to colonialism, elites, power,
dictatorships, peronism, genre, exile, education and literature. The Anuario
contains reviews, research reports, literature reviews, essays and papers.
Each one of its texts is remitted to two evaluators – one from the UNLP and
one from another university that cooperates with them. Its articles are
written by researchers from the Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias de la
Educación (FaHCE) and scholars from invited institutions. Each of its texts
goes through a double blind referring process, performed by pairs from the
UNLP and a guest from one of the universities that collaborate with the
faculty, and in case of dissent, it is referred to a third reviewer.
The FaHCE edits the
Anuario del Instituto de Historia Argentina
through the Argentine and American History Center, which gathers teachers,
investigators, auxiliary professorship, scholarship holders and
post-graduate students. It also integrates other disciplines of social
science and humanities and keeps a close relationship with related
institutes and centers. This Faculty was formally established in 1920. It is
one of the oldest and most prestigious, institutions, recognized mainly by
the formation of professors, researchers and intellectuals who have excelled
at national and international levels. Results of the different lines of
research are made available to the public through workshops, seminars and
conferences carried out by the faculty’s Secretariat of Research. FaHCE also
offers exchange programs working together with other national and
international academic institutions with which it has cooperation
agreements.
The UNLP was founded in 1905. Since then, it has been at the forefront of
research and scientific, cultural and artistic developments. It is one of
the largest and most renowned universities in Argentina, hosting 100,000
students and 10,900 teachers in 17 faculties. UNLP integrates 141 research
and development centers where 3,500 researchers work on their projects. It
also has a Museum of natural sciences and a network of 12 thematic museums,
an astronomical observatory, a public library and a network of 21 libraries.
Anuario del Instituto de Historia Argentina
has published annually in hard copy since 2000. From 2001 to date, it is
