Política y Cultura
is a publication of the Department of Politics and Culture of the Division
of Social Sciences at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM),
Xochimilco Unit, Mexico. The UAM is considered one of the most important
institutions of the country. It has an extensive network of communication
and scientific, educational and cultural diffusion.
The journal covers a wide diversity of topics ranging from religion and
gender issues, to those who are concerned with analyzing the historical
evolution of national political events. It also reflects about the
relationship between culture and society and the application of mathematics
in the social sciences. Each issue of the journal covers a single topic in
depth with a wide variety of perspectives. It is open for participation by
academics working outside the institution to enrich the debate.
Its Editorial
Committee is composed of academics of the UAM-Xochimilco, Universidad
Nacional Autónoma de México, Universidad Nacional de Rosario, Colegio de
México, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Universidad de Barcelona and
Dartmouth College.
The objectives of Política y Cultura are, inter alia, the following:

Disseminate the research outputs of the Division of Social Sciences.

Strengthen the academic work, collectively and individually.

Participate in the debate in the social sciences and humanities.

Encourage, strengthen and enhance the scientific output.

Contribute to a better understanding and a deeper analysis of social
reality.

Spread the use of mathematics in the study of social sciences and
humanities.

Link the Department with other higher-level educational institutions,
domestic and foreign.
Política y Cultura
receives and publishes articles in Spanish and English that are unpublished
and outcome of high-quality research. It also accepts reviews, interviews
and graphic expressions such as photographs, comic strips, drawings,
cartoons, paintings, etc.
This journal has published biannually since 1992. All issues are available
