The Journal Humanidades y Educación (Humanities and Education) was started by the Department of Humanities in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Communication Technologies at the Universidad Tecnológica Metropolitana (UTEM) in Santiago de Chile. It was launched to enable reflection, interchange and the expression of the intellectual processes of the institution’s scholars.

The UTEM is public and independent and belongs to the Consortium of Universities of the State of Santiago and is a member of the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities oriented to technological endeavor. Its objective includes the training of entrepreneurial leaders of wide vision, ethical responsibility, high moral values and social and environmental compromise to serve effectively in the society. The Department of Humanities at UTEM conceives that scientific and technological development must serve the human being. It promotes a vision of sustainable development consistent with the approach of UNESCO.

Through the Revista de Humanidades y Educación, knowledge related to the Humanities and Education is generated and developed. The journal is dedicated to providing original opinions from a technological and environmental perspective consistent with the Mission of the University. In addition it promotes the development of a critical vision of the world to make decisions and face the different problems present in any social group.

Humanidades y Educación Journal brings together a remarkable number of articles of high academic interest developed by teachers in the UTEM. It also invites to contribute papers focused on these issues.

Humanidades y Educación is published biannually and includes every issue in LatAm-Studies Full Text.
