The Journal Estudios de Economía is published by the Department of
Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Chile.
The University of Chile was founded in 1842. It is the largest and oldest,
national and public institution of higher education in Chile. The Department
of Economics is the backbone of the first Faculty of Economics and Business.
The Faculty itself is the first and most influential in the country. This
Faculty has had the lead in the training of professionals who have shaped
the national economy. Its graduates include most of the ministers of state
that Chile has had throughout its history, including two presidents (Pedro
Aguirre Cerda and Ricardo Lagos); and at least four ministers and five
presidents of the Central Bank.
Estudios de Economía has
published twice a year since 1973. Each text is evaluated by two
anonymous members of the Editorial Board. The journal accepts and presents
articles in Spanish and English.
All the articles are available in LatAm-Studies Full Text.
