Cuarto Propio is a literary and interdisciplinary journal of the Department of Spanish at the University of Puerto Rico in Arecibo.

Cuarto Propio journal seeks artistic creation and innovation that, through dialogue and research, contributes to the study of the Humanities and Social Sciences. It aims to present recent studies and discussions on literature, humanities and social sciences in their historical and social contexts. As a way to achieve this, the journal invites unpublished manuscripts, either investigative or creative. The journal publishes literary articles, reviews, poems, short stories, and essays. It publishes in both Spanish and English.

The received papers are peer reviewed and organized as an annual journal. The Editorial Board is composed of Scholars from the University of Puerto Rico and the USl. All issues of Cuarto Propio-revista literaria are included in LatAm-Studies Full-Text.
