The journal Buenaval was founded in 2005 by the Universidad
Iberoamericana Laguna in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico.
Buenaval
follows the mission of the University to offer a humanistic-oriented
cosmovision to build a more just Mexico in harmony with its environment. Its
function is to stimulate the production of knowledge and research, offering
the journal as a means to disseminate the results. The journal aims to
establish itself as a meeting point, debate and discussion to provide
theoretical and methodological positions on various social issues and
regional and local dynamics. The name of the journal, Buenaval
symbolizes both the history and geography of the Comarca Lagunera (Shire of
the lakes) and the mission and goal of the journal.
Buenaval journal is produced twice a year through the Center for Reflection
and Social Action of the Universidad Iberoamericana Torreón. It publishes
new papers which are peer reviewed. The editorial board is composed of
distinguished scholars.
It
is offered in a print edition with a circulation of 600 copies and an
electronic version included in LatAm-Studies Full Text.
