The journal Análisis del Año is published by the Faculty of Social Sciences (FACSO) at the University of Chile.

The University of Chile was founded in 1842. It is the largest and oldest, national and public institution of higher education in Chile. As a part of this university, the Faculty of Social Sciences has as its mission the training of professionals with extensive academic and research capabilities in fields of great interest to contemporary society, including anthropology, education, psychology and sociology. The faculty strives to generate scientific knowledge that meets the most urgent demands of Chile. It conducts research that meets national and international high quality standards. The Faculty contributes and influences effectively the discussion and resolution of problems in Chile. The journal Análisis del Año is an important channel to accomplish this.

Análisis del Año is dedicated to give account and analyze the events in politics, economy, society and culture. One of its objectives is to promote those publications that illustrate the production of scientific knowledge of the community of FACSO.
