Alpha
journal is published by the Department of Humanities and Arts at the
University of Los Lagos in Chile.
The University of Los Lagos is a Chilean University member of the Rectors'
Council and the State Universities Consortium. It was first founded as the
seat of the University of Chile in 1965 then became the Professional
Institute of Osorno in 1981. It became The Universidad de Los Lagos in 1993.
Its priority is education according to global standards for traditional
undergraduates, and graduates as well as training for workers and technical
careers. It is fully engaged in teaching, research, extension, production,
management and services. The University leads research at national level. It
is accredited by the National Accreditation Commission (NAC).
Alpha
journal issues original and previously unpublished articles reflecting on
the current state of studies in literature, linguistics and philosophy. It
carries documents and articles resulting from research projects, conference
papers, notes and reviews of recent theoretical texts and literary
creations. Each paper is peer reviewed by a board of Chilean and
international scholars.
Began in 1985, Alpha has become a prominent intellectual and
editorial means for the dissemination of studies about Humanities.
Alpha
welcomes manuscripts written in Spanish. It publishes biannually in August
and December. Revista Alpha is distributed in schools, cultural
institutions and universities in Chile and abroad via exchange, and by
subscriptions and exchange with researchers and writers. It is published in
print and through an electronic version included in LatAm -Studies Full
Text.
